SEW Brand Identity

WE LEARNED —

The path to reclaiming the future begins with building systems that are sustainable and equitable — only then can we heal, build and thrive.

THE ASK —

During the transformative summer of 2020, as numerous organizations spring up to tackle the issues of systemic racism and police brutality head on, we were approached by the founding team of SEW to help them craft a brand identity system and voice.

WHAT WE DID & HIGHLIGHTS —

Meeting with the founders, we knew SEW was an idea that stood out from many of the other non-profit outfits that focus on marginalized and underserved communities — SEW aims to address economic, environmental, and health as root causes of continued generational trauma. Our approach took that a step further and married the vision to a voice that clearly articulates the mission and the goals of SEW using the language of digital natives and activist culture.

The visual language is brought to life through a striking combination of bright hues and black and white photography. To differentiate the palette from others in the space and call attention that the goal is to make our country better and more equitable, we leaned into an electrified red, white and blue that pops off the page and the screen.

Paired with the timelessness of black and white photos who's subject span age, ethnicity, economics and politics, the overall visual language evokes the energy and attitude of a new generation of activists making their voice heard and pushing for positive change.
