Our journey with Rothy's started at the intersection of brand strategy and data analysis. Through collaborative deep dives with disciplines spanning from product, merchandising, brand and marketing to technology, logistics, consumer insights and analytics, the Pattern team was offered a rare 360 view into the details of every aspect of Rothy's overall business. 

One of the most consequential outcomes of this approach was our teams ability utilize the insights we gleaned, build them up into concrete strategic outcomes, and catalyze them into an experience vision that placed equal emphasis on expression and performance.

With a strategy in place and a vision to work toward, Pattern employed a dynamic sprint model that overlapped requirements gathering & technical vetting with an unbounded approach to UX & visual design. The Rothy's team pushed us to think beyond best-practices, break boundaries and push the envelope to stay true to the brand vision — permission the Pattern team was eager to run with.

Our explorations led our teams to develop original, rich and own-able design patterns and UX interactions that marry product to brand narrative in ways that break down Rothy's stories of material, style, & sustainability into simple moments that build up over time as customers progress through their (often non-linear) shopping journeys.

With the new Rothy's site serving as the primary rollout of their refreshed and refocused brand position, the design process afforded us tons of opportunities to contextualize Rothy's mission, vision and values within their DTC shopping experience.

Both the Pattern and Rothy's teams invested significant time in exploring UX models, visual hierarchy, layout, functionality and interaction paradigms that would effectively serve the dual mandate of providing a delightful and memorable experience while driving a meaningful positive increase in critical business KPIs.

Pattern's UX for seamless in-store and online connectivity helps to close the gap between purchase intent and product in hand, eliminating unnecessary friction across all of Rothy's DTC channels.
